There are two types of Popups. One appears on your iOS Device, and the other appears on web pages.
On your iOS Device.
This is a rectangular region that appears on the display on top of the items that were originally there. This region is also known as a window. Popups are used for one of the following purposes:
- As alerts for certain conditions, like a low battery warning.
- To present a menu of actions to choose from, such as the Popup that appears to ask if you want to delete a draft message or save it.
- To ask you to enter information, like the popup that asks you to enter your password to access the App Store
When the iPhone displays a popup, there is usually a cancel button.
On the Web.
On the web a popup refers to a small window which appears on top of the web page you are viewing. It is usually used by advertisers, and most often gets in the way. Your web browser has settings to block display of these popup windows, but sometimes this can interfere with the operation of a web site. However, in most cases, you want to block popups.
