Braille Screen Input.

Function Type: Behavioral.

Default Option: No.

Description: This Rotor function is similar to the Handwriting mode, and can be used to input text into any text field. It has two modes. Table Top Mode allows you to use your Index, Middle and Ring fingers to operate your iOS Device as if it were a Braillewriter. Screen Away Mode works best for smaller devices and allows you to use the same fingers to mimic Braille characters. When you are finished, turn the Rotor to another function. Braille Screen Input mode is discussed in detail in Unit 8: Other Input Methods, Section 3.

After the function is added to the rotor, it will only appear when a Text Field is the Current Item and has been activated for editing.

If you are unfamiliar with Braille, you may wish to check out this Brief Introduction to Braille. It is not intended to be a comprehensive tutorial, but it will provide enough information for you to work with Braille Screen Input mode.
